I aimed to visually translate the core message of my poem: that it’s essential to look through the cracks of pain to find light. The shoot was designed to reflect this duality of struggle and hope, using contrasting elements of shadow and illumination, intense textures, and evocative compositions. Each photograph was crafted to mirror the emotional journey of the poem, portraying vulnerability alongside resilience. Through the careful use of lighting, setting, and symbolism, I aimed to evoke the tension of the darker moments while also conveying the emergence of clarity and strength, thereby reinforcing the idea that creativity and self-expression can reveal beauty even in difficult experiences.

I collaborated closely with FILMMAKER Faye to bring my poem to life through both visual and cinematic storytelling. The concept IS centred around fragility, healing, and the process of piecing yourself back together, much like porcelain that’s been cracked but not broken. Working alongside Faye allowed me to ensure that every frame reflected the emotion and rhythm of my words, capturing the rawness and vulnerability I wanted to express. This project was about showing that beauty can exist within imperfection, and that art, like people, can find strength in its flaws.
