Light As A Feather was created as a visual exploration of dark femininity and spiritual identity. I wanted to challenge the traditional softness associated with angelic imagery and replace it with something true to my own aesthetic: feminine yet edged with shadow, spiritual yet grounded in raw authenticity.
The shoot uses wings as a symbol of both elevation and burden, reflecting how feminine beauty is often placed on a pedestal while simultaneously carrying its own weight. Through dim, amber lighting and stripped-back styling, the images capture a woman suspended between heaven and earth, powerful, imperfect, and unmistakably human.
The outcome is intentionally atmospheric and intimate. The textures, poses, and lighting merge to create a sense of quiet rebellion, an angel who has stepped out of purity and into her own truth. This shoot became a key part of my Final Major Project because it represents the core of my artistic voice, a blend of spirituality, feminine depth, and unapologetic edge.
